Remembrance Day

Tonight as we begin Remembrance Day for Israel’s fallen soldiers, I am reminded of the price this nation pays simply for her existence. And I wonder again how it is possible for such violent hatred to permeate her enemies in such an all-consuming manner. And every year as Israel’s enemies plan and scheme to destroy her, more Israeli mothers and fathers are added to the long list of those who mourn the loss of their sons on this day. And so what is left for us to hang onto is the promise in Isaiah 51: “The LORD will surely comfort Zion…”
